Hockey Bankroll - Rules
Bodog.NET Hockey Bankroll Contest
Official Rules
NOTE: THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY.
Players should also review the official Bodog.net Terms and Conditions for additional site information.
Picking Games
For contest purposes, each Week begins on a Monday and ends following the last game on Sunday night.
Moneylines will be posted daily at 12:00pm (noon) ET.
Picks can be made right up until the puck drops.
You must select a minimum of seven (7) games during the week to be eligible for the cash prizes.
How the Moneyline Works
When you pick the Moneyline, you are picking the outright winner of the game. Moneyline odds are usually quoted using either a positive or negative number.
- The positive number indicates the underdog – it shows how many Bodog Points you will win on a pick of 100 BP (Bodog Points).
- The negative number reflects the favorite – conversely, it shows how many Bodog Points you must risk in order to win 100 BP.
Here is an example of a possible Moneyline you will see in the game and how it works:
Boston -150
Toronto +150
If you risked 150 Bodog Points on Boston to win, and they won the game, your pick would be settled as a win and you would win 100 Bodog Points plus the risk amount.
Conversely, if you risked 100 Bodog Points on Toronto to win, and they won, the pick would be settled as a win and you would win 150 Bodog Points plus the risk amount.
You will win less if you pick Boston since they are the favorite (-), because there is not as much risk. You will win more if you pick the underdog (+), because there is more risk involved.
How Scoring Works
All games will be settled on 60 minutes of play plus overtime/shootout, if required.
Scores will be graded approximately one hour after the game ends.
Each week, you will start with 1000 Bodog Points. So, for example, if you play 5 games and risk 100 Bodog points for each game; that means you have 500 Bodog Points "at risk". Your Bankroll is displayed on the page and will reflect how much you have at risk-in this example it will show that you have 500 Bodog Points remaining.
If all of your picks win, your bankroll will increase by the value of the win amount plus the risk amount. If your team loses, you lose the amount risked and your bankroll is adjusted accordingly.
Due to the timing of game grading (about one hour after the game ends), it will be possible for players to risk higher amounts of their bankroll later in the week (if they won and increased their bankroll during the earlier games in the week). This is perfectly legal for the Bankroll contest – but manage your bankroll carefully.
Determining Winners
Each week, the players with the largest bankrolls (according to the payout grid below) will, subject to verification, win a cash prize. Each weekly contest shall run in alignment with the American Pro Hockey schedule (see below) for 27 weeks.
In the event that two or more players are tied in any week or at the end of the contest, the tie will be broken in the following order:
- If players are tied, the player with the most games "wagered" on will be declared the winner.
- If players are still tied after this tiebreaker, the total prize amounts will be combined and divided evenly amongst the tied players.
Contest Duration
The Contest will commence at 12:00 PM Eastern Time on October 6, 2011 and end at 6:00 PM ET on April 8, 2012 (the "Contest Period").
Entry Deadline:
Players can join the contest at any time during the Pro Hockey season. You can start playing half way through the season or right from the start.
